Off Duty Police Officers at Off Duty Services, Inc. Serve the Houston Community
Deputy Bryan Salinas Lauded by the Texas Medical Center for Heroism
Houston, Texas (Marketwire) September 17, 2009 – While city and county police officers do an admirable job of protecting our communities, it is often necessary to utilize an off duty law enforcement company. Off Duty Services, Inc. has been serving the needs of the private sector since 2002 with nationwide access to thousands of commissioned police officers that work for local, county or state law enforcement agencies.
Off Duty Services, Inc. provides active duty, full time, off duty police officers to a variety of industries and companies. Highly skilled and trained police officers are selected for special event security, traffic control, armed escort, personal protection, inventory liquidations and workplace assistance.
Recently one of the officers of Off Duty Services Inc. in Houston was honored for his heroic actions. Bryan Salinas was assigned to a detail in the Texas Medical Center and was alerted that an individual was dangling dangerously over the ledge of TMC Parking Garage 4. Salinas, in uniform, approached the roof of Garage 4 and located a naked male individual who appeared to be making an effort to jump over the ledge. Fearing for the individual’s and the public’s safety, and without regard to his own personal safety, Salinas quickly exited his vehicle and grabbed hold of the individual, secured him and prevented him from committing any harm either to himself or otherwise.
Through TMC Dispatch, Salinas was able to determine that the individual was an escaped psychiatric patient. Salinas transported the individual back to Ben Taub Hospital where he was readmitted without further incident.
Because of his quick-thinking actions, Salinas was able to prevent the individual from committing harm to himself or the public. His actions reflect greatly on The Texas Medical Center Police Department and the law enforcement community. He was acknowledged for his bravery and efforts.
Deputy Bryan Salinas and his family are shown with Mike Mallon, ASIS Houston, Vice Chairman. Salinas, an off duty police officer for Off Duty Services, Inc., was recognized for his bravery and heroism while assigned to a detail in the Texas Medical Center.
“We were pleased that Deputy Salinas performed his service at the Texas Medical Center in such an exemplary manner,” said Brett Rowley, president of Off Duty Services, Inc. “Officer selection and screening are very important to the success of our company and we salute the fine efforts of Deputy Salinas.”
